Mountains only 45minutes from London

Well, OK, 45 minutes if you’re lucky with the traffic, and it depends which bit of London you start from, and they’re not really mountains, but hey, the point is it’s not far and you can climb them!

Harrisons in Kent is well known to climbers in the south east, and as the credits roll on Eastenders you’re likely to find a handful making their way up and down routes surrounded by lush countryside.

Marty and Pete, both keen climbers in their youth, still make time to take the family down for an afternoon. There’s a great campsite for the kids and it really isn’t as difficult or dangerous as it looks. Mile End indoor climbing wall is a great place to get started, they’re friendly and welcome newbies on their beginner courses.
